Responsible Gambling at Spinalto

If you've opened this page, you're already asking the right question. Spinalto operates as entertainment, not as income, and this page exists to help you keep it that way — with tools you can use today, warning signs worth knowing, and direct lines to people who can help.

Why responsible gambling matters

Gambling is built on uncertainty. That's the appeal, and it's also why limits matter. Without them, a session that should end keeps going, a loss that should be final gets chased, and entertainment turns into something harder to control.

We set out responsible gambling tools not because we expect you to need them, but because the moment you do, they need to be within reach. The best time to set a limit is before it would have stopped you.

Signs gambling is getting out of hand

These behaviours show up long before the problem feels serious. If you recognise two or more, it's worth a pause:

  • Spending more time or money than you planned, regularly
  • Chasing losses — depositing again to win back what you just lost
  • Borrowing money to gamble, or gambling with money meant for bills
  • Lying to family or friends about how much you've spent
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back
  • Gambling to escape stress, boredom or low mood rather than for enjoyment

None of these means you've crossed a line you can't step back from. They mean it's time to take stock.

Questions worth asking yourself

A short self-check, answered honestly:

  • Have you ever felt guilty about the way you gamble?
  • Do you gamble until your last dollar is gone?
  • Has gambling caused problems at home or at work?
  • Do you gamble to get money to pay debts?
  • After losing, do you feel you need to return as soon as possible to win it back?
  • Have you borrowed money or sold anything to finance gambling?
  • Has gambling made you less interested in your family or social life?
  • Do you gamble longer than you intended?

If you answered yes to three or more, consider reaching out to one of the services below. These questions are not a diagnosis — they're a prompt to check in with someone who can give you a clearer picture.

Control tools available through your account

We provide several limits you can set yourself, directly through your account settings. Each one works differently, and you can use them in combination:

Tool What it does Duration
Deposit limit Caps the total you can deposit over a day, week or month Takes effect immediately; increases delayed 24 hours
Loss limit Stops play once net losses reach your set figure in the chosen period Applied per your timeframe; resets at the end of it
Wager limit Restricts the total amount you can stake, regardless of wins Set per day, week or month
Session limit Logs you out after a set time, even mid-game Applied each time you log in
Reality check Pop-up reminder showing time and money spent so far Repeats at intervals you choose
Time-out Locks your account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days Immediate; cannot be undone early
Self-exclusion Closes access for a minimum of six months or permanently Immediate; reversal requires a formal request and cooling-off period

To activate any of these, log in and go to the responsible gambling section of your account. Changes to deposit and loss limits take effect straight away when you lower them; increases are delayed by 24 hours so you can reconsider.

Self-exclusion is the strongest tool here. Once applied, you will not be able to deposit, wager or log in until the exclusion period ends. If you choose permanent exclusion, access is closed indefinitely. Reversing it later requires written notice and a mandatory cooling-off period, usually 7 days. Use this when a time-out is not enough.

Practical limits that work

Setting a limit is one thing; sticking to it is another. These habits make the difference:

  • Decide the amount before you deposit. Once it's in your account, the number feels less real. Fix your limit outside the session.
  • Set a deposit limit lower than you think you need. If it feels tight, it's working. You can always raise it tomorrow — after a night's sleep.
  • Never chase losses within the same session. If you've lost what you planned to lose, log out. Coming back later with a clear head is not the same as depositing again in the moment.
  • Use session reminders every 30 minutes. Time moves differently when you're focused on a screen. A reminder breaks the flow and gives you a chance to check in with yourself.
  • Keep gambling separate from other money. If your account uses the same card you pay bills with, it's too easy to go over. A separate payment method gives you a visible boundary.
  • Take regular breaks. Not when you've lost, when you're up. Walking away while you're winning proves to yourself that you can.

Where to get help in Australia

If gambling is affecting your life, your finances or your relationships, speaking to someone trained makes a difference. These services are free, confidential and available now.

National Gambling Helpline

1800 858 858 — free call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also access free online chat and email counselling through Gambling Help Online. The counsellors are trained in gambling harm; you don't need to be in crisis to call.

BetStop – National Self-Exclusion Register

BetStop is a free service run by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. Register once and you're excluded from all licensed Australian online and phone wagering providers at once, for a minimum of three months and up to life.

Important: BetStop covers licensed Australian wagering services. It does not extend to offshore or unlicensed operators. If you're using a site that operates outside Australia's licensing framework, BetStop will not block your access to it. Self-exclusion with those operators must be arranged directly with them.

International support organisations

These services provide additional resources if you need broader support:

Blocking software

If you want to prevent access across all devices, these tools work at the system level:

  • Gamban — blocks gambling sites and apps across your phone, tablet and computer for a set period you choose; cannot be removed early
  • BetBlocker — free, open-source blocking software for multiple devices

Both work independently of any single operator. Once installed, they prevent access even if you've not self-excluded through the site itself.

Protecting minors

Our services are restricted to adults aged 18 and over. If you're a parent or guardian, parental control software on phones, tablets and computers can block access to gambling sites before a young person encounters them.

Most devices and browsers include built-in parental controls. Third-party tools like Qustodio, Net Nanny and Norton Family offer more detailed filtering and activity reports. None of them replace supervision, but they add a barrier where it's needed.

A note on what we can and cannot do

This site is an independent information portal. We do not hold your account, process your deposits or control your access to any operator. If you need to self-exclude, set a limit or close your account, that request must go to the operator directly — through your account settings or through their support team.

We can explain how the tools work and where to find help. We cannot activate them for you. If you're struggling to make that request yourself, the National Gambling Helpline can guide you through it.

For editorial questions about this page, you can reach us at [email protected]. For account, deposit or withdrawal issues, contact the operator's own support channels.

Gambling should be entertainment, not a chore. If it has stopped feeling that way, the resources above exist to help you step back.

This site is informational in nature. We do not operate a casino, take bets or organise gambling of any kind. Access to gambling services is restricted to individuals aged 18+. If you or someone you know needs support, contact the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 or visit BetStop at betstop.gov.au.
